Slidell, Louisiana based Artist Rand Carmichael has been a lifetime artist. He began his career as an artist in the early 1970s after studying art at the University of New Orleans and later went on to pursue a thirty year career in urban planning after earning his Master of Science Degree in Urban Studies. This lent well to his love of "orderliness" embraced since childhood and carries on in his paintings. Known for his Abstract Geometric Expessionist paintings, he explores the idea of barriers, walls, boundaries using strong bright color. Today Rand spends most of his time in his studio where he works methodically, deliberately and intentionally to create precise paintings that have a strong impact visually with powerful design elements and purpose.
And did we mention, he is a Veteran.
